In 2022, Seiko continues its long history of sports partnership as the official timepiece of the world’s leading touring car category, the Repco Supercars Championship. Seiko 5 will also continue as the official watch partner for the Irwin Racing Team.
Supercars
Seiko 5 will again be the official timepiece of the Repco Supercars Championship. The Supercars championship is a fantastic platform for Seiko 5 to showcase its collection of timepieces as the series runs from March to December with 12 events across all Australia and also extending into New Zealand. The Seiko 5 Watch Tower will feature prominently on the broadcast coverage which this year is hosted by the Fox Sports network with further broadcast support from the Seven Network.
Irwin Racing Sponsorship
Seiko 5 will also be partnering with Irwin Racing for the 2022 season. Former Bathurst and Supercars Championship winner, Mark Winterbottom, will pilot the number 18 car that will feature the Seiko 5 logo prominently on the headlights. This association allows access to more imagery to capture the drama and excitement from each Supercars event and also includes branding on the Irwin Racing car, website, social media pages and access to the team and driver.
Each with its own distinct colour way, the special edition pieces feature carbon fibre pattern dials and the Supercars logo on the case back and crown.
The rubber strap takes inspiration from the “slick” racing tyre and the watches are packaged in a sleek presentation box.
